A small cannon that was used by the Maratha warriors to fight against the invaders.
Note the carving of an elephant head at its base.
Now this cannon is placed by the entrance of the palace of Raja Shivaji’s descendants.

is this artillery casted or produced by Maratha or just imported European piece {any description }

Its origin is not very clear, but the Marathas did have their own armory and the typical Indian motif of elephant head indicates its Indian origin. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts here 🙂
