Someone left her at the entrance of our apartment building during the dark hours of a cold night. She is so tiny — hardly the size of my palm. At first, she looked absolutely scrawny, frightened, hungry and was actually shaking.

Japan is well known for excellent wood-work. Different places like Hakone, Nikko, Kyoto etc. proudly boast of their individual wood-work specialty.
My son and daughter-in-law brought this beautifully inlay-ed wood work bookmark from Nikko; not only that, they also got it customized by requesting the artist to engrave it with my name 🙂
